<p><img class="caption" src="images/scales_of_justice.png" border="0" height="150" align="right" /></p> <p>Mr Kim N Hakin is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon providing ophthalmic services, both NHS and private, at Taunton and Somerset NHS Trust and Nuffield Hospital, Taunton and is now available for medico-legal consultations in London.</p> <p>His special interests include the management of cataracts, ocular trauma, eyelid and lacrimal surgery, including cosmetic eyelid surgery, facial aesthetic injection and laser treatments which are provided at the <a href="http://www.welc.co.uk">West of England Laser Centre at Nuffield, Taunton.</a></p> <p><img src="images/0p709.png" border="0" height="100" align="left" style="margin-right: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;" />He is also Honorary Clinical Lecturer, responsible for the training of junior ophthalmologists and medical students, and has been Lead Clinician of his department since 1999.</p> <p><a href="http://www.ewi.org.uk" target="_blank"><img src="images/0o9475.png" border="0" width="150" align="right" style="margin-left: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;" /></a>As well as his medical work in the UK, Mr Hakin has also carried out a substantial amount of voluntary work overseas. He worked with Surgical Eye Expeditions in Cambodia in 2004 as well as with Orbis International in Ghana, Sarawak, China and Laos over 3 years between 2006 and 2009.
